Japanese Spindle El Dorado ® This is a very upright tree for any garden; Euonymus japonicus El Dorado is an evergreen tree with a columnar habit. The oval leaves emerge bright yellow, becoming bright green with age or if the situation is too shady. The flowers are insignificant. Good in architectural or city and courtyard gardens or a low-maintenance garden, and corners of beds and borders as a small punctuation mark. If grown in full sun, reliably moist soil will be needed. Japanese spindle El Dorado is an easy tree that needs minimal pruning (occasionally trim off wayward twigs) and it can also be grown as a low hedge in a sunny spot, and is good on banks and slopes.
