Acer Pacific Sunset (Warren’s Red) A fairly compact, hybrid tree with brilliant autumn colour, Acer x platanoides Pacific Sunset (Warren's Red) is a large, hardy, fast-growing, deciduous tree with an egg-shaped, rounded habit, grey-brown, slightly furrowed bark and red shoots in spring. It’s an ideal tree for a smaller garden. The fine, lobed leaves, typical of maples, emerge shrimp-pink and yellow, maturing to mid-green in summer and turning flaming orange-red and yellow-orange in autumn.
