A delicious rose with ripe red summer fruit berry notes, lots of texture and priced a lot more favourably that Provence equivalents. It is a rose wine that is a joy to drink on its own but also works well with seafood and spicy food. Chateau La Verriere is made by owner and winemaker Alain Bessette who is the fourth generation of his family to make wine at Chateau La Verriere. He is a talented man and his name is always on the short list for the ‘Talents de Bordeaux Superieur’ every year. The estate now convers 75 hectares and farms with a sustainable approach. It is located in Landerrouat in the far east of Entre-Deux-Mers, near the Dordogne region. Alain also keeps bees and makes a cracking honey!  Tasting Note: After a skin maceration of a few hours, giving the wine a lot of fruitiness and volume in the mouth, a gentle and progressive pressing is carried out with a pneumatic press. The wine is luscious and full of ripe mediterranean fruits. It is dry, with explosions of fresh cherries and strawberries on the pallette. The finish is long, lingering and satisfying.  Food Matches: Match this with Barbeques, roast meats, salads and cheeses. It is light and refreshing, but serious and complex at the same time. A wonderfully well made wine with structure and length. Made to be enjoyed fresh with or without food.
