Country: France Region: Bordeaux (Pauillac) Varietal: Merlot / Cabernet Sauvignon/ Cabernet Franc Vintage: 2012 Colour: Red Style: Dry Producer: Chateau Bellegrave  91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate  The Bellegrave has an intriguing, rather saline/brine scented bouquet with expressive Cabernet Franc. It takes a little time to find its delineation and focus. The palate is medium-bodied with firm, grippy tannins. The Cabernet Franc component forms its conspicuous back bone - a Pomerol that is classic and “cool” in style. Nicely focused and delineated on the finish with well-integrated oak, don’t be surprised to find this blooming in several years. (NM)  (3/2013) James Suckling  Some raspberry and currant character with citrus undertones. Medium to full body, firm tannins and a fresh finish. Needs a year or two to soften. Better in 2020.  (2/2015) Wine Spectator  Offers a racy feel, with damson plum, red currant and bitter cherry notes that course along the iron-edged structure, while bright floral and blood orange accents fill in the background. Pure and tightly focused at the core, with the vintage's austerity showing along the edges.  1,665 cases made. (JM, Web-2015)  Description: Surrounded by the likes of Latour, Pichon-Longueville and Lynch-Bages, Bellegrave could not have asked for a more prestigious neighbourhood! Its gravely soils are textbook-perfect for Cabernet Sauvignon, and also give the château its name. The wine is medium-bodied, with plum fruit and an intriguing citrus note. Showing the lighter side of the vintage, its fruit will need more time to flesh out and put on a bit of weight. A few more years in the cellar will do just that.
