Welcome to Texas Inspired by Aaron Franklin and Franklyn Barbecue we have put together an amazing evening of smoking, interaction, and socialising. You will enter our barbecue shack any time before 7pm where you will be greeted by the smell of smoke and a complimentary drink. We will have at least 3 barbecues on full blast with a selection of Texas style classics including of course brisket, ribs, and smoked turkey. We will give a talk on each cut of meat including Where to source your meat What to look for How much to feed people Meat hygiene and safety Dry rubs Smoking woods, charcoals, and other flavours Different types of barbecue Cooking times and temperatures Sauced and glazes Serving and storing We will eat dinner at around 8:30pm. It will be a full sit down dinner with silver service cutlery and crockery, bottomless complimentary drinks, and as much as you can eat. Dessert will be served and then it will be time for taxis and a great night’s sleep with dreams of The Lone Star State. Meats Full Packer Brisket Ribs Turkey Beef Sausage Sides Potato Salad Slaw Pit Beans Pies Pecan Pie Barbacoa Banana Pie Complimentary Drinks Low ‘n’ Sloe Gin Barbacoa Rum Fentimans Cola Fentimans Ginger Poachers Tonic Craft Beers Artisan Pit Coffee Doggie Bag Everyone will take home a doggie bag with one or two of our rubs, a bottle of booze, a Boyne Valley Flavours t-shirt, and probably lots of left over meat :-) Venue We have ample parking at the venue. All food and equipment is provided. There will be basic toilet facilities. The venue is partially outdoors (with shelter available) so please bring a rain coat. The venue is accessible, but you may need some assistance with a low step. Children are welcome, but please be aware that we are on a very busy main road and constant supervision is required. Children do not need as ticket if you are happy to share with them. Dietary Please note we cannot cater for allergens, dietary requirements, or special requests. Most of the main courses in this series are gluten free and if you let us know we will try and cater for gluten free. The home made cakes are not possible to make with GF flour. This event is not suitable for vegans or vegetarians!  Food Safety You will not be handling raw meat.  You will be provided with hand-washing facilities.  You will be partly preparing your own food and this is a learning event rather than a catering event. We are approved by the HSE for events and cake making. All other meal prep will be hands on and part of the learning event.
