With this collection we are giving you three wines the Southern Hemisphere that are both unusual and expressive. Excellent quality and perfect for the wine drinker that likes their wine in the fuller juicer style Piedra Negra Pinot Gris 2020After searching extensively across several regions of Argentina, François Lurton planted his vineyard at high altitude in the Uco Valley, in the foothills of the Andes Cordillera, in semi-desert conditions (the poor, gravelly soil is reminiscent of Pessac-Léognan!). This unexplored region is known as Chacayes, the name that François later gave to the property’s finest wine. A pioneer of the Uco Valley, he built his winery, Bodega Piedra Negra, in the heart of 200 hectares of virgin land. Drawing on expertise acquired all over the world, he immediately introduced environmentally-friendly winegrowing methods. Kanonkop Kadette Cape Blend 2018Kanonkop Kadette is a unique blend of Pinotage, Cab Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, which is aged 12 to 14 months in French Nevers barrels. Given the time spent in oak this wine can be drunk young but will age well for up to 10 years. Deep ruby red in colour with aromas of ripe raspberries, black currant and mocha flavours. On the palate there is dark chocolate and blackberry fruit with god length and a dry finish. Cartlidge & Browne Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2018Harvested from the warmest parts of Lake County and the Alexander Valley for optimal richness, The Cabernet Sauvignon was then aged in French oak for 16 months. Cardinal red in color, our Cabernet starts out with rich and delicious red fruits on the nose that grow into to ripe blackberry, watermelon, candied plum and cr̬éme brulée. Between the tannins there are notes of coffee, rose petals and wet slate. As always, we've created a Cabernet Sauvignon that pairs perfectly with a range of foods, from lamb and duck, to peppercorn steaks and barbecue chicken.
