A multi-award-winning rum from St Lucia, Admiral Rodney is distilled from molasses in column stills, is aged an average of 12 years before bottling and has always been extremely popular with our customers. The name commemorates a famous 18th-century admiral who conquered the French in 1782. This St Lucian rum is matured in ex-bourbon casks, and is famed for its smoothness. The rum is named after Georges Brydges Rodney, a British naval officer, famous for his tactical acumen, who fought against the French in the 18th Century. Tasting Note Nose: Heavy, brown sugar sweetness with molasses in there too. Lots of burnt caramel and a hint of white pepper. Palate: Smooth and soft. There is pepper and spice here but it's nicely ensconced in the flowing toffee and caramel. Finish: Vanilla and cloves floating over the caramel with a pleasant oaky dry note. Overall: A beautiful sipping rum, soft, rounded and wonderfully easy to drink. Silver Outstanding Rum - Golden - 2013 International Wine & Spirit Competition
