Foxglove Pam’s Choice
An excellent cultivar of the native foxglove, Digitalis purpurea Pam’s Choice is a biennial plant forming a basal rosette of broad, pointed, over-wintering green leaves in its first year. In its second summer, tall flower spires rise above the foliage, bearing large, white, trumpet-shaped flowers, heavily blotched and freckled inside with a rich, deep purplish-crimson. These open from late May to July, and are very attractive to bumble-bees. A beautiful, adaptable midsummer biennial for a border, contrasting well with grasses and perennials with a more rounded shape. Seedlings often come true. Foxglove Pam’s Choice holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
