Sea Buckthorn A fast-growing, deciduous shrub with silvery, willow-like leaves, particularly suitable for coastal sites. Sea buckthorn is vigorous, tolerates drought and is a good choice for a coastal hedge in extremely exposed sites. Tiny, green, petalless flowers appear in March and April, the male and female flowers appearing on separate bushes. The berries, profusely borne on female bushes in late Summer, are medium to large, oval and deep orange.
