Grape Madeleine Angevine
Primarily thought of as a wine-grape, the French cultivar Madeleine Angevine is also delicious eaten fresh. It is by far the best grapevine for outdoor growing in this climate, as it flowers late, the fruit ripens early, and the wood ripens well in winter. It can also be grown under cover. The small, round grapes are golden-white, sweet and juicy, with a slightly citrus flavour. Makes a rich wine with a Muscat aroma. The vine is exceptionally vigorous, reliable in even in poor years, and a heavy cropper. Needs careful pruning in December. Holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
All grapes, even ‘seedless’ varieties may have some seeds, but usually these seeds don’t grow to be more than a seed trace.
