Golden Elder
Brightening up a shady spot in your garden is not a problem for this beautiful, fast growing shrub. Delicate yellow leaves resembling Japanese maple emerge slightly pink in colour, turning to a brilliant gold as they are mature, creating a dome of golden foliage, enhanced in May when the huge flat flower heads appear. They are creamy white and loved by bees and other pollinating insects. Red berries follow in clusters for Autumn interest. Place in full sunlight or partial shade, in moist but well-drained soil. As the leaves are quite delicate it is important to protect Golden Elder from harsh winds.
