Country: France Region: Bordeaux (Pauillac) Varietal:Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot Blend Vintage: 2015 Colour: Red Style: Dry Producer: Chateau Lynch Bages Description: The chosen blend for the 2015 Lynch-Bages gives to Chateau Lynch-Bages the chance to highlight the Cabernet Sauvignons perfection and vibrancy. The 70% Cabernet Sauvignon (very concentrated with remarkably ripe tannins) share the blend with 24% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. This Pauillac 5 cru classé is very expressive on black fruits such as blackcurrants with a delicate empyreumatic note due to its current ageing. The attack is frank on the palate. On the mid-palate, this wine is broad and strong; its tannic structure has fine, silky grains and perfectly extracted tannins. The finish is really long and closes on strong black fruit aromas. It is a fine Lynch-Bages with a great potential.  Wine Advocate-Parker : Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2015 Lynch Bages offers up crushed black berries, black cherries and dried herbs with an earthy undercurrent. The medium-bodied palate is firm and taut with lively fruit and a chewy finish. Lynch Bages is always popular with our customers and invariably one of the first wines to sell out. Jean Michel Cazes likens this year's effort to the classic 1985. Cassis and vanilla on the nose with smoky, toasted oak. Broad and dense palate with layers of black fruit. Long intense, creamy finish. 17.5 Points. Drink 2025-40. (WineOnline.ie Taste Team)  "Year in, year out, the Cazes make one of the most reliable classed growths, a wine that's generally good value as well as a pleasure to drink. This intense, well structured Pauillac is firm and quite oaky, but with plenty of dark berry fruit and acidity for balance. Drink: 2022-35.
