It contains the stories of Charles Dickens's most famous child characters, including Oliver Twist, David Copperfield, and Little Nell. The stories are adapted so as to preserve the quaint, pathetic and humorous touches of Dickens' originals, yet be easily understood by young readers. Lucy L. Weedon (1862 – 1939) was a prolific author, writing for small children and producing simplified stories from the Bible or classic novels. Published by Ernest Nistar, London circa 1900. The binding at the spine of this book is severely torn.  No dust jacket.   Apart from this, the pages and binding are presentable with no major defects. There is an inscription on the front endpapers.
