Navajas believes that the quality of the wine begins in the vineyards and for this reason they monitor and control the vineyards which belong to their growers in the Rioja Alta and Rioja Baja. About the wine: This is an unusual wine since most rioja is made from either 100% tempranillo or a very high proportion of tempranillo in the blend. The Graciano that goes into the Bodegas Navajas wine is all from old vines with low yields and is relatively late harvested – normally in the first week of October.
