Stanley Morison (1889 – 1967) was the man behind the ‘Times New Roman’ font, one of the most popular typefaces of all time, and was also involved in the development of other well-known fonts.
He also wrote several books and articles on the history of printing, drawing attention to the best printing and typefaces of the past.
This bibliography of Morison's writings offers a detailed introduction to his work on types and typography, which have formed the basis of nearly all typographical thinking ever since. Included are essays by printers, Brooke Crutchley & John Dreyfus, biographical notes, and details relating to Morison’s work, such as books that he designed.
