Horses in the Sun, by Judith Campbell
€8.00
Quay Books
In 1966 Marion Pares travelled to Jordan, ‘that fascinating land of mountains and desert’, with photographer Godfrey Argent to study Arabian horses.
She visited the stud farm of King Hussein, and observed the royal horses being trained. She also researched the horses of the police force and the camels of the desert forces. Horses in the Sun is a lavishly illustrated account of this visit.
Using the pen name Judith Campbell, Marion Pares (1914-2004) wrote many books on horses, often for children, as well as biographies on the British royal family. She grew up on a fruit farm in the Kent Downs, and from her childhood she always had a keen interest in horses and ponies.
Published by Pelham in 1966.
Good condition with dust jacket. Binding intact.
