Elinor Glyn, a Biography, by Anthony Glyn
€10.00
Quay Books
Elinor Glyn, née Sutherland (1864 – 1943) was a British novelist and scriptwriter who specialised in romantic fiction.
Her books were considered scandalous when they were first published. Elinor also wrote screenplays for early cinema, creating roles for film stars like Gloria Swanson, Clara Bow and Rudolph Valentino.
This biography was written by her grandson, Anthony Glyn (1922 – 1998) and is based on family archives. It shows a different side to Elinor, covering her propaganda activities and work for refugees during the First World War. Elinor was based in Paris for much of the War and was one of only two women present when the Versailles Treaty was signed.
Published by Hutchinson in 1955.
Good condition. With dust jacket.
