The Hotter Winds is an account of travels in pre-war India and French North Africa, written by Patrick Turnbull.
Turnbull (1908 – 1986) was born in South Africa. He served with the British Army in India before moving to Morocco. He spent some months with the Foreign Legion Cavalry in North Africa. During World War II he was at Dunkirk, Gibraltar and Burma.
After leaving the army in 1957, Turnbull became an author, writing travel books, history and biography.
Published by The Adventurers Club in 1961.
