Malice Bites Back is a collection of short stories, published in 1947 by Thomas Owen Beachcroft.
Thomas Owen Beachcroft (1902 – 1988) was born in Bristol, the son of a schoolmaster. After graduating from Oxford he worked in London as a copywriter for an advertising agency.
Beachcroft also wrote poetry and novels, but it was with his short stories that he achieved the most success.
Describing Malice Bites Back, poet Stevie Smith wrote, “Simplicity is the word for Mr. Beachcroft's stories, but it is a poet's simplicity, the most subtle in the world.”
Published by The Bodley Head in 1947.
