Avens Scarlet Tempest A new, Scottish-bred cultivar, Geum Scarlet Tempest is a semi-evergreen, clump-forming, herbaceous perennial; a sterile hybrid, it has an exceptionally long flowering period. Round, lobed, mid-green leaves form a low mound, from which rise the upright flower-stems. Large double flowers, scarlet with an apricot flush, appear from April to June, followed by slightly smaller flowers from August to September. An easy, trouble-free plant, avens Scarlet Tempest should be divided every two to three years, to keep it from becoming woody and bare in the centre.
