About the ArtistDee Walsh is a visual artist from Drogheda, Co. Louth. Her work is rooted in a fascination with the urban landscape and the structures and infrastructures that influence our lives. She creates pieces by layering architectural elements and geometric forms to produce colourful landscapes that drift into the surreal. She has exhibited both nationally and internationally including Straight out of Ireland (USA), Borrowed Ground (IRE), Tulca (Ire) and Irishwave (China).  The title of her piece for Awakening is ‘Sanctuary’. “This print is inspired by early morning walks taken through the vacant landscape during the travel restrictions. During these wakening hours I began to reimagine my familiar surroundings. In the print the basic architectural and geometric structures of the landscape are manipulated, layered, and exaggerated.
