The Almost People is a collection of amusing, light-hearted short stories by Cork writer, Stephen Barrett.
Barrett was born in 1913 and started his career as a reporter for the Cork Examiner before training as a barrister and entering politics. He served as a TD and as Lord Mayor of Cork.
During the 1960’s he wrote a weekly humorous series in the Cork Examiner, Peering at things, as well as many short stories and articles.
Published by Talbot Press Ltd, Dublin in 1973.
