€10.00

Quay Books
In 1973 the French explorer Michel Peissel crossed the Himalayas by hovercraft, travelling from Annapurna to Dhaulaghiri. This book recounts his extraordinary journey of 1,200 miles, up nine different rivers, from India to the borders of Tibet. It is an adventure on the ‘Roof of the World’, full of danger and humour, thrills and mishaps, and difficulties surmounted.
Michel Peissel was born in Paris in 1937 and died in 2011. He wrote twenty books, mostly on his Himalayan and Tibetan expeditions, and also made documentary films. He was a photographer, a painter, an inventor of various contraptions, a linguist and a wonderful storyteller.
