Country: France  Region: Bordeaux  Vintage: 2012 Category: Red Wine  Color:  Red Producer: Château Larose Perganson The Larose Perganson wines were so well received that we have decided to list the property's second wine, Les Hauts de Perganson. This wine is made from younger vines (aged 12 years on average) but the approach in the vineyard, where sustainable viticulture is practised, and in the winery, is the same. Les Hauts de Perganson is intended for earlier drinking and is therefore more fruit driven and softer in style. The 2012 Les Hauts de Perganson is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot while the 2010 is 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot. Both vintages have a subtle touch of oak to let the fruit take the spotlight us." Winemaker: Franck Bijon Vineyards: The parcels used to produce the Chateau Larose 'Les Hauts de Perganson' are in the heart of the Château Trintaudon estate which sits on the borders of the Pauillac and St Julien Appellations, with a very similar climate and soil profile to its neighbour Château Latour. The vines are between 15 and 20 years old. Vinification: Les Hauts de Perganson is vinified in temperature controlled stainless steel vats with 15% of the blend put into third and fourth use barrels. The 2012 is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot. Tasting Notes: Deep ruby red in the glass. Lush and ripe, the bouquet abounds with aromas of blackberries and cassis. On the palate, velvety tannins are balanced with excellent acidity. A delicious Bordeaux blend ready to drink now. Food Suggestion:  Great with hard cheeses, grilled lambs and juicy steaks. Closure: Natural Cork  ABV:13%
