The story of the estate begins when Amedeo Tessari, an Innkeeper owning a few plots of vines in Soave area, founded and developed the wine production in the early 1900s. Despite the difficult times of the two World Wars, the Tessari family kept developing and pioneering the Piemontese wine's expansion. The Estate was renamed Ca'Rugate in 1986, taking its name from the volcanic hills on which the vineyard are located. The Ca'Rugate vineyards now cover 58 hectares, 35 of which are located within the commune of Montecchiadi Crosara in Valpolicella. Tasting Note:Valpolicella DOC Rio Albo is made from the best grapes selected from Ca'Rugate's vineyards in the hilly area of Montecchiadi Crosara and are harvested at the beginning of October.
