Irish Yew
This cultivar of Taxus baccata, Fastigiata Robusta is a more solid columnar shape than its parent Fastigiata, and has exceptional, upright growth forming pencil-like columns. It is evergreen, bearing dark green needle-like foliage on branchlets. The fastigiate yew is a small to medium sized tree that makes a statement in any garden, and is useful due to its ability to grow in difficult sites and soils. It is also wildlife friendly, providing excellent cover for small birds nesting and providing berries in winter.
