A vigorous, deciduous self-clinging climber with large compound leaves which are divided into five leaflets and which turn fiery shades of red and orange in autumn. They bear inconspicuous green flowers followed by blue-black berries which attract birds. Climbs almost any support using tendrils and can also be useful as groundcover.
