A member of the honeysuckle family and better known in North America, where it is sometimes called Crape Myrtle of the North, or Seven Son Flower. The scented, creamy white flowers fall with the first frosts but their calyxes remain, turning pink before darkening to burgundy. Butterflies love heptacodium almost as much as Buddleia.
