Hydrangea Vanilla Fraise
One of the paniculata hydrangeas, Hydrangea paniculata Vanilla Fraise (Strawberry and Vanilla) is a medium-sized, bushy, fast-growing, deciduous shrub. The large, fluffy, pyramidal flower-heads open clear white, becoming pink as they age, and finally turning a rich, deep pink. Flowers from mid-summer to mid-autumn. The big, toothed, oval leaves are very deep green, but do not colour in autumn. Very good in a shrub border or in more informal woodland-edge plantings. To enhance flowering, prune hard (at least ? of previous year’s growth) in early spring.
