Variegated Pittosporum
A favourite foliage plant for flower arrangers, Pittosporum tenuifolium Variegatum is a large, fast-growing, evergreen shrub or small tree with a bushy, oval habit. The wavy-edged leaves on slender black stems are green, boldly margined in cream. In May and June, small, insignificant, chocolate-purple flowers appear, scented of honey. An excellent shrub for coastal areas, variegated pittosporum can be clipped to shape, and can also be grown as a hedge.
