Laburnum x watereri Vossii Also known as Golden Chain, Laburnum x watereri Vossii is a small, fast-growing, deciduous tree with a magnificent display of golden-yellow flowers in late May and early June. These hang down in long racemes, and are followed by small, flat pods containing pea-like seeds. The light green leaves are divided into three leaflets, and, although they don’t change colour much in autumn, remain on the tree until November. Voss’s laburnum is very easy to look after. Please note that the pea-like seeds are highly toxic if eaten, as are all parts of the tree; it should not be planted near ponds containing fish. Holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
