Blackcurrant Malling Jet
Bred by the East Malling research station in Kent, late Blackcurrant Malling jet is a large, vigorous variety, suitable for larger gardens. It flowers very late, making it a good choice for colder areas. The berries are small to medium sized, with a fairly good, slightly acidic flavour, and borne on very long strigs, which makes picking easy. The bush is a moderate to good cropper, and the berries hold well on the bush. Plant lower than the nursery soil-mark to encourage new growth from below soil level.
