Caucasian Laurel
A quick growing evergreen hedge, Prunus laurocerasus Caucasica is similar to common Laurel but has a distinctly more upright habit. Caucasian Laurel suits the gardener who likes the reliability of common Laurel but has either less space or wishes to keep their hedge narrower. The leaves are generally a darker green and it will take the shade that all Laurels will.
Quick, tough and easy to grow in free draining soil. Not suitable for coastal exposure. The leaves and seeds are poisonous, but are unpalatable and are generally avoided by animals, but worth bearing in mind when deciding where to plant this hedge.
