A layer of resist slip and glaze is applied and a linear design is etched through both layers.  The piece is placed in a raku kiln and fired to 825°c. It is lifted from the kiln when molten and placed in a reduction bin filled with paper and wood chips. The lid is made in two parts the bottom section is thrown and the top is handbuilt and joined to the base. It is coated with several layers of terra sigilatta and raku fired, following reduction in the smoke bin it turns black.Unique one off piece. Size: H:( from top of lid) 20cm x W:18cm Care of Raku Pottery : Wipe gently with a damp cloth.
