He so named it because the area is silent for 364 days of the year. On one evening each summer, Andrea performs for fans around the world and this wine was named after the theatre and created for the first occasion of it’s opening. Since then, ‘Tenor Red’ has been one of Andrea’s flagship wines. It is aged for 10 months in French oak. It is a blend of 34% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Sangiovese and 33% Merlot. Bordeaux fans are sure to love this wine as it is arguably the perfect Italian Bordeaux Blend, with equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot, with Sangiovese sharing 33% of the blend. It won a Siler Medal at the Texas Wine awards and the 2015 vintage was given 90 points at the world wine championships.For more than 150 years, the Bocelli family has made Sangiovese on their small farm in Lajatico, Toscana. As part of a long line of Bocelli’s, Andrea Bocelli–one of the world’s most famous opera singers–along with his brother Alberto, mamma Edi, and sister-in-law Cinzia, remain committed to making terrific wine and keeping productions small.
