Country: France Region: Burgundy Varietal: Pinot Noir Vintage: 2017 Colour: White Style: Dry Producer: Domaine Vincent Lumpp Description:Henri IV's favorite Burgundy wine is one of the crus of the Côte Chalonnaise.Produced in the municipalities of Givry and its hamlets of Poncey, Cortiambles and Russilly, Dracy-le-Fort and Jambles. A small paradise for the vines recognized under its name since 1946, around the fortified village since the Middle Ages.As Philippe Sollers writes in his biography, “being born into French wine is quite a story; a fundamental experience which strengthens, interiorizes and sobers up.As a child, you don't even have to read Rabelais, he lives and talks around you ... ”.TerroirsBrown limestone or calcareous soils born from the weathering of Jurassic Oxfordian limestones and clay-limestone. Most of the vines are exposed to the east / south-east and to the south, between 240 and 280 meters above sea level (the top of the Bois Chevaux is located a little higher). Tasting Note: In white (Chardonnay), a light gold wine, limpid and lively, honeyed or lemony, with hints of lime blossom and lily then dried fruit, often toasted, after a few years. The palate is fine, divided between mellowness and acidity which give the Givry appellation good aging potential and good length in the mouth.
