Country: Chile  Region: Valle Central  Vintage: 2016 Category: White Wine  Color: White Producer: Villa Montes These wines are also made from Montes' estate vineyards. As such, they offer remarkable value for money. The Sauvignon Blanc, bright and lifted, is made from fruit grown in the Curicó Valley, while the Cabernet Sauvignon, from the Central Valley, has good colour and excellent varietal character. Winemaker: Aurelio Montes Baseden Vineyards: The Sauvignon Blanc grapes come from the Curico Valley. Curico's mediterranean climate is a result of the vines being shielded from the Pacific Ocean by the Coastal Range. Sauvignon Blanc from Curico is riper in comparison to the cooler climate regions in Chile, but is still able to retain freshness due to cool nights. All grapes were hand harvested. Vinification: Grapes were cold soaked for 6-12 hours to extract aromas and then fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks for two weeks. The wine was kept in contact with its lees to add roundness on the palate. Tasting Notes: Pale lemon in colour, this Sauvignon Blanc is bright and lifted with a good balance of zesty citrus fruit and racy acidity. Food Suggestion: Pair with sushi, caesar salad, ceviche, shrimp, pasta primavera, seafood chowder and chicken with lime. Closure: Stelvin  ABV:13%
