Country: Chile Region: Central Valley Vintage: 2017 Varietal: Riesling Category: White Wine  Color:  White Producer: Santa Rita Santa Rita was founded in 1880 by Domingo Fernández Concha. Considerable wealth from mining in the Atacama desert was flowing into Santiago at the time and a wine industry sprang up just south of the city. Santa Rita, along with its contemporaries Cousino Macul and Concha Y Toro, introduced vines from France and began to make wine. Tasting Notes: A very solid and underrated Chilean Riesling, 13.5% abv. with an intense yellow colour. On the one hand it offers fresh aromas of lemon zest and grapefruit, on the other rather sweet flavours of ripe apricots, peaches and honeydew melon. In-between there are notes of hay and grass. It's a good example of the importance of the terroir for this grape, especially when compared to its European counterpart. Good value for money! Food Suggestion: Spicy Indian and Asian cuisines and would do excellently alongside duck, pork, bacon, shrimp and crab. Closure: Stelvin  ABV:13%  Acidity [g/l]: 5.9  Classification: VQA
