€29.00
Tree Bark Store
Beautiful work by a local artist.
The Blackface Mountain sheep descended from an ancient Asian sheep. The sheep were introduced to Ireland after the Great Famine by landlords who owned vast estates in the montains along the west coast. Since then, the unique Mayo/Connemara Blackface has evolved and adapted to the conditions in the West. This artwork is both a portrait of a lady and a ram, the lady’s hair becomes the ram’s body and the ram’s legs frame the lady’s neck.
This artwork was created by hand using a fine liner and ink on paper. It was professionally scanned and printed in Galway on high quality 270 gram, FSC certified, acid free paper. This print is A3 (297x420mm) and will fit in an off the shelf frame. It is signed by the artist.
