Beautiful work by a local artist.
This artwork tells the story of the development of the afro as an icon. In the 1960’s, black hair underwent it’s biggest change since Africans arrived in America. The afro hair style, which emerged in the 1960s during the civil rights movement, was a symbol of rebellion, pride and empowerment, it defined Black identity and reflected the Black Power movement.
This artwork was created by hand using a fine liner and ink on paper. It was professionally scanned and printed in Galway on high quality 270 gram, FSC certified, acid free paper. This print is A3 (297x420mm) and will fit in an off the shelf frame. It is signed by the artist.
