These large disc earrings were hand formed from light blue cold porcelain clay and finished with gold leaf detail. The clay discs where forcefully broken in half and reattached with small golden rings.  The broken edges were painted in gold in the Japanese style of Kintsugi.  This is a tradition of repairing broken ceramic with visible golden lines. To me, it's a reminder of how our scars make us who we are and, as they show that we've lived, our scars are in fact something to be celebrated. Only 3 pairs were made.  As is natural, due to the organic way they were made, each one is completely unique. Ships in a gift box.
