'Papar' by Billy Woods

Damn Fine Print
Belfast-based photographer Billy Woods caught our eye through his self-published zines capturing the faces of Belfast DIY music venues. With the same energy behind the camera, Billy found himself in Reykjavik, Iceland, where he came to learn through conversations with locals, of genetic ties between Irish and Icelandic people. From behind the camera, this trip saw Billy documenting the architecture, landscapes, and people of Reykjavik, delving in to their city and gaining an understanding of the ways that these two cultures have been interwoven, be it through shared DNA or shared experiences of the harsh economic struggles. The resulting zine, ‘Papar’ is a beautifully crafted and considered photo book that we were delighted to have produced.
