Damn Fine Print
This print was made as part of our 2017 exhibition Culture: A Visual Snapshot of Now. We asked artists from all over the world to lay down where we're at in 2017. ''The piece is entitled 'Gan Dóchas', which means 'without hope' in Irish. It's a social commentary on the homelessness crisis in Ireland which is so prominent at the moment. It's done in a stained glass Harry Clarke-esque style where the main figure (a homeless man) is depicted as a saint. Homeless people are rarely treated with the respect and dignity they deserve even though many of them are good people, but have just fallen on hard times through circumstances out of their control. The goal of this was to cast the people we often ignore in a different light and get the public to think differently about the situation rather than ignoring it or throwing the odd bit of change at someone on the street.'' 1 colour risoprint Edition Size: 30Size: A3Riso printed on Cairn Straw Cream 120gsmSigned and number by artistThis poster is sold unframed securely packaged in a cardboard tube. Please note colours may vary between computer screens.
