'De-Construct' by Neil Dunne 4 colour hand-pulled screen print.240 x 340mm / on 300gsm Munken Polar paper. Edition of 20, signed and numbered by the artist. About the ProjectOur group collection 'Dawn' was put together at during the latter stages of 2020, calling on our Damn Fine Print members, to each respond to the theme of "Dawn" through their respective approaches to printmaking. "The idea for this print spans right back to the first lockdown, I was playing with new ways to create these collaged elements from photographs and drawings I created and struck this composition. It really came together for me quite quick and the colour choice was also immediate. When the brief for DAWN was sent out, I felt it was a perfect fit. The context of its creation, the timing, everything just fit together and flowed. The very essence of DAWN hints at a reemergence and this is something I want this work to embody. The bright, crisp visuals suggest a fresh awakening and visually carry us forward through these dark times." About the ArtistNeil Dunne is an artist exploring the significance of the urban landscape on personal experience, creating work that responds to the inner city environments of Dublin. Neil's practice consists of both printmaking and painting, creating interesting visuals in the space between both mediums. FramingBespoke framing is available for this piece.
