The sculpture of Mauro Staccioli: a perfect poetic synthesis of rhythm and measure in relation to location.
The reason for making a sculpture is to find a sense of being, of being in space and time. to give a meaningful form to my and our landscape.
Nature, people and society are never the real motivation: it is actually a desire to intervene and alter, it is a moral passion. Staccioli strives to resolve the conflict between the individual tininess and the immensity of the universe.
Mauro Staccioli (1937 – 2018) was an Italian sculptor. His beginnings as an artist are strictly linked to his teaching experience and to his intellectual and political activism.
The text of this book is in English and Italian.
