Heart The five birds represent the ancient five provinces of Ireland. The snakes are for health to heal our island. The outcome being our island flourishing with flowers, growth and beauty. Depicted here in the shape of a heart, the love of Ireland. Growing up within the local heritage of the Boyne Valley, Colette’s work is inspired by ancient Celtic art.  Colette uses nib and ink to create intricate colourful drawings creating a contemporary interpretation of the iconic imagery of the Book of Kells.
