Illustration of Ha'penny Bridge - Dublin, Ireland
The Ha’penny Bridge was the first pedestrian bridge to cross the Liffey. In May 1816 this lovely bridge opened to offer passage via its timber gangway, to any Dubliner able to pay the ha’penny. An estimated 30,000 pedestrians cross the bridge everyday.
