Mary Robinson grew up with four brothers – something which gave her an keen interest in women’s rights from a young age! A brilliant student, who worked hard, she quickly became the youngest professor of law in Ireland. From there she went into  politics, becoming Ireland first female president 30 years ago. Her work has taken her all around the world, working with the United Nations, fighting for equality, human rights and climate justice. Her journey is wonderfully depicted in this book by Fatti Burke and her dad John - a retired History and Geography teacher - the fourth in their little Library series. Mary Robinson is an inspiring story about this outstanding legend of a woman, that will inspire kids to become whatever they dream of. The Little Library series also includes Granuaile: The Pirate Queen, Brian Boru: The Warrior King, Tom Crean: The Brave Explorer and Constance Markievicz: The Rebel Countess. For more kids books, check the rest of the collection.
