Dublin Town Print: Dublin Castle
€15.00
Designist
Fine art archival print, designed and produced in Dublin by Julie & Owen from Jando Design. This modern art print depicts a building of many different names, now known as The Medieval Tower. Over the years, it has also been known as the Gunner’s Tower, the Record Tower or the Wardrobe Tower - each of the names representing a function the tower once held. Dating from 1204-28, its walls are up to 4.8 meters thick and it is one of the oldest, most intact and most important parts of the city of Dublin to survive today. Originally one of a pair of towers, its twin held the city's gunpowder stores and exploded when a devastating fire consumed the castle in the 17th century!
