Limerick Boat Club has stood on Wellesley Pier guarding the River Shannon for a century and a half. During that time generations of members have borne witness to world wars, a war of independence and two global pandemics. It has weathered storms and floods and has seen incredible societal change. This book tells the story of 'Boat Club' and the men and women who shaped the history of the club since its foundation in 1870.This book celebrates the 150 year old history of Limerick Boat Club from 1870 to 2020, in particular its members contribution to the sport locally, nationally and internationally with reference to the clubs links - socially and economically - to Limerick City during this period.
